"Gökçeada Design Forum for Social Development: Terirorial Design in Action"

The Istanbul Institute of Design at Özyeğin University (OzU/IID) has been organizing workshops under the auspices of Gökçeada (Imroz) Municipality and District Governorship every summer since 2014. The workshops are intended to utilize design methods to develop solutions for Gökçeada’s socio-economic problems with a sustainable and participatory approach. 
  This year, however, instead of a workshop, OzU/IID will organize a 2-day international event titled "Gökçeada Design Forum for Social Development: Terirorial Design in Action”  from July 5 to July 6, 2018. Participants from the US, Italy, Pakistan, and South Africa will share their experiences regarding the role of design in social development. This is the first academic meeting organized by OzU/IID regarding the role of design in social development in Turkey. The event will feature two invited speakers who are the leading figures in this area.
